Every herd has 'em! Fakies are just that - fake ponies. Knock-offs, bootlegs, etc. They go by many names, but essentially, they're pony toys from other companies that were made in an attempt to capitalize on the success of the My Little Pony toy line. They come in many shapes and sizes and often only bear the faintest resemblance to actual ponies. Over the years, many collectors have come to like these little imposter ponies, and some even go out of their way to collect them. There are quite a few vintage fakie lines that are as sought-after as the real thing, such as Totsy fakies, Chap Mei fakies, Remcos, Lanards, and more. There are even some fakie Takaras! Although most sought-after fakies are vintage, recent years have seen the rise of the 'Concerned Fakie', found on Aliexpress and Taobao, who has become almost a meme within in the community.
