Strawberry SwirlYear Made:
Mold/Pose: How They Joined The Herd: I was her original owner; she was bought in a retail store. Trivia: This Strawberry Swirl was actually my very first My Little Pony, and she comes with a bit of a background story. I was a five year old horse-crazy girl when G3 came out, and while I had the G2 PC game before I had my first G3, G3 was technically my first real exposure to the toy line. When I heard that there were toys to go along with one of my favorite games, I was naturally very excited! I begged my mom for one, and as a reward for good behavior, she went to go get one at the store. I had told her that the one I wanted was named 'Strawberry.' Unfortunately I should have been a bit more specific because she brought home a Strawberry Shortcake pony instead! Which didn't really upset me to be perfectly honest; I didn't even realize it wasn't a My Little Pony until like a week after she'd brought it home. But eventually my mom went back and got me Strawberry Swirl as well. She was my constant companion; I pretty much took her everywhere. I even took her to the Build-A-Pony store in Disney World! I had tried to keep all her accessories together, but sadly most of them have been lost over the years of play and storage. I do still have her pony charm, though! |
Loop-de-LaYear Made:
Mold/Pose: How They Joined The Herd: Bought in a bag of ponies from an antique store. Trivia: I found this girl in amazing condition at an antique store. About a month later, I found her corresponding stand at a Salvation Army. Very neat! Only missing the small pink insert for the stand. |
Rosey PoseyYear Made:
Mold/Pose: How They Joined The Herd: Bought in a Savers for $2. Trivia: Rosey Posey was a Hasbro Charity Ball exclusive; she was handed out to people who bought tickets to the ball and attended, and is definitely one of the rarest of the G3 ponies. I was lucky enough to find mine in a Savers when we lived in New England for a meager $2 in mint condition. Her hair is still in its plastic wrapping and her tail is still banded. Interestingly enough, we went back to the same Savers and found another Rosey Posey (albeit in slightly worse condition) for $2 a week or so later. That other one currently resides with my sister. You can see both our Rosey Poseys together in the bottom pic. |
